Hey ladies & germs,
    How was your weekend? My mine was good, thanks for asking....I made some cupcakes and saw Where The Wild Things Are.  What’s new with FOE, you ask? Oh, I’ll tell you what’s new with FOE. Remember how we mentioned a little while ago that times-they-were-a-changin’ and FOE 3.0 was coming? (Sidenote: doesn’t 3.0 kinda sound a little badass...reminds me of a Terminator model.) Anyway, that time is coming real soon. I’m not telling you exactly when, but the next time you come back to the site, you may be logging in to our really exciting, brand spankin’ new, highly efficient version of FOE. I hope you like it. I know things might be a little weird at first, but in no time I bet you guys will be zipping around the site enjoying our new features, like listening to our Rock-it Radio station all day long, shopping in our Merch Super Store, and picking your favorite from our Unsigned Artist Group.
    Like I said, I think you guys will get the hang of things real quick, but if you don’t, feel free to reach out to me with questions or comments. If it’s something you don’t think I can handle, scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit “contact.” That’ll send an email our super smart tech friends who can fix anything. Speaking of things our techies can handle, if you guys were original FOE members (which means you signed up directly on FOE), and want your blogs transferred over to the new sight, we can probably do that! Just email them!
    Ok I think that’s all I got for you. Next time I talk to you, I hope it’ll be on the new site. Doesn’t this kinda feel like the time your mom said goodbye to you right before she brought home your baby sister? That’s how I feel. Is that strange?

Hey! Have you guys heard about the Ulalume Festival? It sounds pretty awesome. Paramore, AFI, Dead By Sunrise, Kid Cudi & Asher Roth are all playing, which is probably one of the most eclectic & coolest lineups I've seen in a while. On top of all the sweet performances, word on the street is that there's a crazy costume contest (and you could win 2500 bucks) and a carnival and haunted house and stuff. Man! I have to find a way to get down to Maryland on October 23. You can read about all the other fun stuff that's going on at the Ulalume Festival here.

I know you guys are super excited and can't wait for Hot Chelle Rae's new album "Lovesick Electric" to come out on Oct 27. We've got a surprise for you guys. We'll be revealing the album cover, piece by piece over the next couple days here in this journal. First person to fit them together, and leave a comment with the right image pieced together will win a phone call from the band! Pretty awesome, huh?

This album was not supposed to be an album. This was intended to be a soundtrack to a play about a monster-ghost-love-story. When Zach Shields and Ryan Gosling met in 2005 and discovered their mutual obsession with ghosts, they decided to write the afore-mentioned ghastly love story. Scrapping the stage show when costs became prohibitive, they already had songs written and decided to continue. The pair chose to play all the instruments on the record, even those they had never touched before. They also imposed rules on themselves during the recording process, like not playing with a click track, or trying to do no more than three takes on any song, letting any imperfections highlight the strengths of the music. Enlisting the help of the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir to round out the tunes, the album was produced by Tim Anderson of I’m A Robot. The result is a striking collection of doo-wop songs about werewolves, haunting melodies telling tales of zombies with broken hearts, and children singing the joys and pains of being alive or being dead.

You guys know our good friends, Gym Class Heroes, right? They’re some of my favorite buddies and they’re getting an opportunity to go on tour with one of my favorite shows - Robot Chicken...perhaps you’ve heard of it?! You know it...there’s claymation, that handsome ginger Seth Green does lots of voices and funny things happen. Anyway,  the Robot Chicken On Wheels Tour starts this Saturday, August 1st. The guys have been given a bunch of guaranteed early entry passes for every show which will let you guys in an hour before the public door time. So have you noticed anything different on the front page of FOE today? Do things seem a little louder to you? Well, in case your speakers are broken and you happen to glimpse over it, we just launched our radio!! Since you guys are super smart and stuff, we wanted to get your opinions about said radio. Are we doing a good job? Is the music ok? Do you want to see any bands/songs added? What about that autoplay feature - Thumbs up or down? You can listen to our radio right on the home page of FOE...and word on the street is that Cobra Starship will be doing a little something on air, Friday at 3PM, EST.
